reverse direction of rotation of a DC motor

Explain how to reverse the direction of rotation of a DC motor:

As we know that DC motors are DC motors, we can change the direction of rotation of DC motors through two methods:

  • First, change the direction of the ARmature.
  • Secondly, change the poles of the field files.

This is because when the direction of the electric current to one of the coils is changed, the direction of the electric field generated for this coil is changed to the direction of the coil.

The direction of rotation is changed.

It is better to reverse the direction of the magnetic field of the armature coils and not the field coils in order to avoid removing the residual magnetism in the field coils.

Explanation from the previous picture:

  • In the first case:

We see that the electric current passes through the field winding from E1 to E2 and then moves to the armature winding from A1 to A2

Rewind the motor in the right direction.

  • In the second case:

In order to reverse the direction of rotation, we reverse the poles Armature Winding

We see that the electric current passes through the field winding from E1 to E2 and then moves to the armature winding from A2 to A1.
