how to connect the encoder with the PLC

Explanation of how to connect the encoder with the PLC:

We previously talked about the encoder and the idea of its work, its composition and types, we will continue to explain the encoder and we will learn about the ways

Connect the encoder with the PLC.

Connecting the PLC to the encoder:

In the case of connecting the encoder with the PLC, this was done through a command inside the PLC programming, which is the High speed counter, meaning that it entered

The signal from the encoder to the PLC is through a high speed counter, not an ordinary counter, and we know that the encoder works quickly.

The engine, the encoder is very fast, according to the Rpm of the electric motor, so the signal is entered on the high speed counter to prevent and avoid any errors during readings, because the speed of the encoder may be higher than Speed scan cycle for PLC.

As we already know, the uses of the encoder are:

Measure the speed of the electric motor so that the encoder is installed on the shaft of the electric motor.

Knowing the direction of the electric motor by using two 2-channel encoders, including phase shift.

Measuring distances. If we assume that the encoder says 100 Impulse, when the motor rotates for a full revolution, the encoder gives 100 pulses.

Inside the PLC, a measurement is made of the distance that the load moves, assuming that the 100 pulses are given a distance of 1 cm.

A specific action after a distance of 3 cm, that is, after 300 pulses of the PLC change the direction or any command to love the desired application.
